... Who is having serious problems with dA this past week?

I mean, I can only access the first page of people's galleries and favourites... if I click to go to the next page, it just refreshes and sends me straight back to the page I've just been looking at.

Plus, it's not doing it anymore, but either yesterday or the day before (can't remember) about half the pictures on dA had that little red cross in the corner and refused to load.

Oh, and no one seems to be able to change the mood on their journals. (I've seen a bunch of people mention this.)

Rather odd.

ANYWAY, just wondering if it's the site or if it's my computer being dodgey.


On a different note, yesterday was a tad bit hectic and stressful, especially for my Mum.

You see, my dad is taking part in a charity motor-biking 'Over 40's ride' for the MacMillan Cancer Trust. There's like fifty men he's riding with all over England to raise money for the cause and he left on Wednesday. Friday night, we got a call from a lady called Sonia who runs a hotel they were going to be staying at. She was concerned because they hadn't turned up yet and Mum told her Dad had rung earlier to say they were a couple of hours behind schedual, but would make it on time.

Yesterday morning, the phone rang and I answered it, and it was Sonia again, saying they hadn't turned up all night.

Now, as you could probably imagine, I was starting to freak out -I mean, if YOUR dad had gone off on a trip and had seemingly disappeared, you'd start to think the worst too, right?

So I went and fetched Mum and she began talking to Sonia. Still confused, we rang up the wife of another biker who was with Dad and asked her. She wasn't too helpful and announced, 'I don't give a toss, I jus wanted my husband out the house for the week', which, though made us laugh, wasn't too helpful. So we checked Dad's e-mails to see if he'd told her the wrong date.

After about five hours of telephone calls, e-mailing, Mum consuming a lot of alcohol to calm her nerves and general stressing, we finally came to the conclusion that Sonia was the one in the wrong, as we found an e-mail sent to her clearing stating they would be in the hotel on SATURDAY the 28th. SHE had said they'd told her Friday the 27th.

But it didn't really matter who's fault it was at this point - what actually mattered was that we now had fifty or so men without a room to stay in that night, as Sonia had no rooms spare.

So, Mum, god bless her, who had been looking forward to a nice long Saturday gardening and chilling outside, ended up calling up every hotel and travel lodge in Wiltshire, asking if they had accomodation. It took her three hours and she had to keep apologising to them for the hsort notice.

At half 5, we sat down to have tea. Just as we were about ot eat, the phone went. It was Dad, telling us it was okay, their sponsor had already sorted out accomodation and she needn't have bothered.

So, basically, Mum spent all Saturday chasing after Dad and his friends for absolutely nothing. Plus, she said to me quite seriously, "We can't afford the phone bill."

See, you Americans might not know this, but England right now is falling into economic crisis. Okay, so there's not going to be a repeat of the 1930's (lol, lookit Wolfie showing off her knowledge of American history and the Great Depression)but still the prices on everything is rising and people are having ot cut down on spending. That one day in which we rang up hotels and stuff for no reason has probably set us back by about 150% more on the phone bill than it would usually.

And with Mum being officially made redundant... we are going to be getting pretty skint soon.

So, as a surprise to make up for Mum's horrid weekend... tomorrow morning I'm going to go down the local newsagents and ask for a job on weekends or nights.

Yes Sarah, I'm finally getting off my lazy arse and getting a job. But I'm only doing it for my Mum's sake, and not to actually make myself useful.

Urm, so... Yeah... everything's a little tense around here, and Dad is going to get such an earful when he comes back Wednesday/Thursday (can't remember when).

Oh, and now for something completely different:
